1. About This Privacy Policy

Artemora Learning Inc. (“Artemora Learning,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) creates physical learning products, educational resources, websites, and digital applications for children and families.

We take a privacy-conscious approach to our products and services. Our children’s applications are designed so that children can use the learning experience without creating an Artemora Learning account or providing personal information directly to Artemora Learning.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you:

• Visit or shop through our website at artemoralearning.com;

• Create or use a customer account;

• Purchase or inquire about our physical products through our Shopify website;

• Purchase an Artemora Learning physical product through Amazon or another third-party online marketplace;

• Download our free educational resources;

• Subscribe to our mailing list;

• Contact us or submit a website contact form;

• Use an Artemora Learning mobile application;

• Purchase an Artemora Learning application or digital product through an app store; or

• Use another Artemora Learning service that links to this Privacy Policy.

By using these services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Our Services Are Intended for Families and Adults

Our educational applications and products are designed for children, but our online store, customer accounts, checkout, mailing list, contact forms, customer-support services, and purchasing features are intended to be used by parents, legal guardians, educators, and other adults.

Children should not independently:

• Create a customer account;

• Place an order;

• Join our mailing list;

• Submit a contact form;

• Provide personal information to Artemora Learning; or

• Access an external purchasing opportunity without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

Where an Artemora Learning application includes a link to an external website, online marketplace, app-store page, or purchasing opportunity, we may use a parent gate intended to require adult involvement before the user leaves the children’s experience.

3. Information Our Applications Do Not Request

Our children’s applications do not ask users to provide Artemora Learning with:

• Names;

• Email addresses;

• Telephone numbers;

• Home or mailing addresses;

• Birthdates;

• Photographs or videos;

• Contact lists;

• Precise location information;

• School information;

• Voice recordings;

• Messages or user-generated content; or

• Payment-card details.

Our applications do not currently include:

• Child user accounts;

• Public profiles;

• Chat or messaging features;

• Social-networking features;

• Behaviourally targeted advertising; or

• Third-party advertising.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through our applications.

4. Game Progress and Local Device Storage

An Artemora Learning application may save information such as game progress, completed activities, sound preferences, or other settings locally on the user’s device.

This locally stored information:

• Remains on the device;

• Is not transmitted to Artemora Learning’s servers;

• Is not connected to a child’s name or contact details; and

• May be lost if the application is deleted, its storage is cleared, or the device is replaced.

Artemora Learning does not currently offer cloud-based game saves or cross-device child profiles.

5. App Stores and Digital Purchases

Artemora Learning applications may be distributed through third-party platforms such as:

• The Apple App Store;

• Google Play; and

• The Amazon Appstore.

When an adult downloads or purchases an application through an app store, the app-store operator may collect and process information such as:

• App-store account information;

• Payment information;

• Purchase and download history;

• Device and operating-system information;

• General location or storefront region;

• Technical or diagnostic information;

• App usage information; and

• Transaction, subscription, cancellation, or refund information.

That information is collected and handled by the applicable app-store operator under its own privacy policy and terms.

Artemora Learning does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers from app stores.

We may receive limited information needed to operate and support an application, such as:

• Confirmation that a purchase occurred;

• The digital product purchased;

• A transaction or receipt identifier;

• Purchase or entitlement status;

• Subscription status, if subscriptions are introduced;

• Refund or cancellation status;

• Country or app-store region;

• Aggregated download or usage statistics; and

• Technical or diagnostic information made available by the app store.

Animal Pals does not transmit personal information, device identifiers, gameplay activity, or analytics data from the app to Artemora Learning or to third-party analytics or advertising providers. Any purchase, download, aggregated usage, or diagnostic information made available to Artemora Learning is provided separately by the applicable app-store operator under its own privacy practices.

We may use app-store-provided purchase or entitlement information to confirm that a user is authorized to access the app or paid content.

We will not use app-store information to create advertising profiles of children.

The availability of Artemora Learning applications may vary by app store, device, country, and region.

6. Information Collected Through Our Shopify Website

Our website and online store are hosted through Shopify.

When you browse the website, create an account, place an order, download a resource, submit a form, or use another website feature, we and Shopify may process information including the following.

Information You Provide

• Your name;

• Email address;

• Shipping address;

• Billing address;

• Optional telephone number;

• Customer-account information;

• Products purchased;

• Order details;

• Delivery instructions;

• Marketing preferences;

• Contact-form submissions;

• Customer-support communications; and

• Any other information you voluntarily include in a message to us.

We recommend that you do not send sensitive personal information through our contact form or general email channels.

Information Collected Automatically

Shopify and related service providers may automatically process technical information such as:

• Internet Protocol address;

• Browser type;

• Device type;

• Operating system;

• Pages or products viewed;

• Referring website or traffic source;

• Approximate geographic region;

• Session and visit information;

• Shopping-cart activity;

• Cookie or similar identifiers;

• Website performance information; and

• Fraud-prevention and security information.

Some technical information may qualify as personal information depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

7. Customer Accounts

Adults may create customer accounts through our Shopify store.

Customer accounts may allow customers to:

• Sign in to the store;

• View current or previous orders;

• Manage certain profile details;

• Check order information; and

• Access other account features made available through Shopify.

Customer accounts are not intended for children.

Parents and legal guardians are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account access and for supervising any use of the website by a child.

Payments made through our Shopify website are processed by Shopify and the payment providers available through Shopify checkout.

Payment processors may collect information such as:

Artemora Learning does not directly receive or store complete payment-card numbers or payment-card security codes.

We may receive limited payment and transaction information, such as:

• Payment method category;

• Transaction identifier;

• Amount paid;

• Refund information;

• Billing name and address; and

• Limited card information, such as the card brand or final digits, when made available by the payment provider.

Payment providers process payment information according to their own privacy policies, security practices, and legal obligations.

9. Orders, Fulfilment, and Delivery

When you purchase a physical product through our Shopify website, we use your information to:

• Process and confirm the order;

• Receive payment confirmation;

• Prepare and package the product;

• Create shipping labels;

• Deliver the order;

• Send tracking and delivery communications;

• Respond to delivery problems;

• Process returns, replacements, or refunds;

• Prevent fraud; and

• Maintain business and transaction records.

We may disclose the information required for delivery to Canada Post and to other shipping, fulfilment, or delivery providers selected by Artemora Learning or made available through our ecommerce platform.

Delivery providers may receive information such as:

• Recipient name;

• Shipping address;

• Optional telephone number;

• Email address, where needed for delivery notifications;

• Tracking number;

• Package information; and

• Delivery instructions.

Providing a telephone number at checkout is optional unless a particular shipping method or destination requires one.

A telephone number supplied for order or delivery purposes will not be used for text-message marketing unless you separately and expressly consent to such messages.

10. Physical Products Purchased Through Amazon

Artemora Learning may sell physical products through Amazon and other third-party online marketplaces.

When you browse Amazon, create an Amazon account, place an order, make a payment, communicate through Amazon, request a return, or use another Amazon service, Amazon collects and processes information according to its own privacy notice and terms.

This may include:

• Your Amazon account information;

• Contact and delivery information;

• Payment and transaction information;

• Purchase and browsing activity;

• Communications sent through Amazon;

• Returns, refunds, and customer-service information;

• Device and technical information; and

• Other information described in Amazon’s privacy notice.

Amazon processes payments for orders placed through its marketplace.

Artemora Learning does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers used to make Amazon purchases.

Amazon may provide Artemora Learning with limited information required to manage and support orders for our products, such as:

• An Amazon order number;

• The product and quantity purchased;

• The purchase date;

• Payment or order status;

• Recipient and delivery information, where required for fulfilment;

• Shipment and tracking information;

• Messages sent through Amazon’s approved communication systems;

• Return, refund, replacement, or claim information; and

• Other transaction information made available through Amazon Seller Central.

The information available to Artemora Learning may depend on how the order is fulfilled.

Where an order is fulfilled by Amazon, Amazon may store, pack, ship, deliver, and manage certain customer-service or return activities.

Where an order is fulfilled directly by Artemora Learning, we may use the delivery information provided through Amazon to prepare, ship, track, and support the order. We may disclose the information needed for delivery to Canada Post or another authorized shipping or delivery provider.

We use information received through Amazon only for purposes permitted by Amazon’s seller policies and reasonably necessary to:

• Fulfil and deliver an order;

• Provide product or order support;

• Communicate with the customer through approved Amazon channels;

• Process returns, refunds, replacements, or claims;

• Prevent fraud or misuse;

• Meet product-safety, tax, accounting, and legal obligations; and

• Protect the rights of Artemora Learning, customers, and others.

We do not use information received through Amazon to add customers to our mailing list or send independent marketing communications unless the customer separately provides their information directly to Artemora Learning and expressly consents to receive marketing.

Privacy requests concerning information controlled directly by Amazon should be submitted to Amazon.

Requests concerning personal information under Artemora Learning’s control may be sent to privacy@artemoralearning.com.

11. Free Educational Downloads

Artemora Learning may provide free educational materials, including downloadable PDF resources, through our website.

At present, users may download these resources directly by selecting the applicable download button.

Artemora Learning does not require a name, email address, customer account, order number, or access code solely to download a free file.

Normal website technical information, described in Section 6, may still be processed when a visitor accesses the webpage or downloads the file.

Once downloaded, the file is stored on the user’s device according to the device, browser, and download settings selected by the user.

12. Mailing List and Shopify Email

Adults may voluntarily subscribe to receive communications from Artemora Learning through Shopify Email.

When you subscribe, we may collect:

• Your email address;

• Your marketing-consent status;

• The date or source of your subscription;

• Information about delivery, opening, or interaction with an email, when made available through Shopify; and

• Your unsubscribe status.

We may use this information to send:

• Product news;

• Educational content;

• New-release announcements;

• App and product updates;

• Special offers;

• Surveys; and

• Other Artemora Learning marketing communications.

Joining the mailing list is optional and is not required to use our applications, purchase a product, or download our free educational resources.

You may unsubscribe at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link in a marketing email.

You may also contact us at privacy@artemoralearning.com.

After you unsubscribe, we may retain limited information on a suppression list so that we can honour your request and avoid sending further marketing communications to that address.

You may continue to receive non-marketing messages connected to an order, customer account, security issue, return, delivery, or customer-support request.

We do not knowingly accept mailing-list subscriptions from children.

13. Contact Forms and Communications

When you contact Artemora Learning through a website form, by email, through Amazon, or through another approved customer-service channel, we collect the information you provide.

This may include:

• Name;

• Email address;

• Optional telephone number;

• Order number;

• Information about a product or application;

• The content of your inquiry;

• Photographs or attachments you choose to provide; and

• Other information included in your communication.

We use this information to:

• Respond to the inquiry;

• Provide customer or technical support;

We currently use Shopify’s built-in analytics features to understand basic website and store performance.

Shopify Analytics may provide us with information such as:

• Referring websites;

• Approximate visitor region;

• Device or browser category;

• Pages or products viewed;

• Shopping-cart and checkout activity;

• Orders and conversion information; and

• Aggregated sales trends.

We do not currently use external analytics services such as Google Analytics on our Shopify website.

We also do not currently use external advertising pixels for retargeting or behavioural advertising.

If we introduce new analytics or advertising technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and any applicable consent tools before using information for materially different purposes.

15. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our Shopify website uses cookies and similar technologies.

These technologies may be used to:

• Operate the website and checkout;

• Keep products in a shopping cart;

• Maintain a customer session;

• Remember preferences;

• Enable customer-account features;

• Prevent fraud and abuse;

• Protect the security of the store;

• Measure website performance;

We do not currently use advertising cookies for third-party behavioural advertising or retargeting.

16. How We Use Personal Information

Depending on how you interact with Artemora Learning, we may use personal information to:

• Create and administer adult customer accounts;

• Process purchases and confirm payments;

• Fulfil and deliver orders placed through Shopify, Amazon, or another marketplace;

• Provide order, shipment, and delivery updates;

We do not sell personal information.

We may disclose limited personal information to service providers and third parties that help us operate Artemora Learning, including:

• Shopify, for website hosting, ecommerce, customer accounts, checkout, analytics, order management, and email communications;

• Payment processors and financial institutions;

• Amazon, in connection with the sale, payment, fulfilment, delivery, customer support, return, and refund of physical products through the Amazon marketplace;

• Apple, Google, and Amazon in connection with app distribution and digital purchases;

• Canada Post and other shipping, fulfilment, and delivery providers;

• Website, domain, email, cloud-storage, or technical service providers;

• Fraud-prevention and security providers;

• Accountants, lawyers, insurers, consultants, and other professional advisers;

• Government, regulatory, law-enforcement, or judicial authorities where required or permitted by law; and

• A purchaser, investor, successor, or adviser involved in a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.

Service providers may use personal information only as permitted by their agreements, applicable terms, privacy policies, and the law.

We may also disclose information:

• To protect the safety, property, or rights of Artemora Learning, our customers, children, or others;

• To investigate fraud, security incidents, or unlawful activity;

• To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; or

18. International Processing

Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Amazon, app-store operators, payment providers, and technology providers, may process or store personal information outside Canada.

As a result, information may be subject to the laws of another province, state, country, or jurisdiction.

It may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, national-security authorities, or other government bodies in that jurisdiction where legally required.

We select reputable providers and use reasonable contractual, organizational, and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information and services involved.

19. Children’s Privacy

Protecting children’s privacy is central to our approach.

Our current practices include the following:

• Children can use the core learning experience without creating an Artemora Learning account;

• Our applications do not ask children to submit personal information;

• Game progress is stored locally on the device and is not sent to Artemora Learning’s servers;

• Our applications do not include third-party advertising;

• We do not create advertising profiles of children;

• We do not sell children’s personal information;

• Purchasing, customer accounts, mailing-list registration, and contact forms are intended for adults; and

• External purchasing links may be placed behind a parent gate.

App stores, online marketplaces, and device operating systems may independently process technical, purchase, account, or diagnostic information under their own privacy practices.

Parents and guardians should review the privacy and family settings available through their device, app-store account, and marketplace account.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to Artemora Learning without appropriate adult involvement, contact us at privacy@artemoralearning.com.

We will review the matter and take reasonable steps to delete the information where appropriate and legally permitted.

20. Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and to meet legitimate business and legal requirements.

Retention periods depend on the type of information and may be affected by:

• The duration of a customer relationship;

• Whether a customer account remains active;

• Order fulfilment, returns, warranties, or product-support needs;

• Tax, accounting, corporate, and financial-record requirements;

• Product-safety and recall obligations;

• Fraud-prevention and security needs;

• Legal limitation periods;

• Pending disputes or investigations; and

• Consent and marketing preferences.

For example:

• Order and transaction records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting, product-safety, and other applicable laws;

• Customer-support records may be retained while an issue remains active and for a reasonable period afterward;

• A minimal suppression record may be retained after an unsubscribe request; and

• Local game progress remains on the user’s device until removed through the application or device controls.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to legal and technical limitations.

Information may remain temporarily in secure backups until those backups are overwritten or deleted through normal processes.

21. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and amount of personal information under our control.

These safeguards may include:

• Limiting access to information;

• Using password-protected business accounts;

• Using reputable ecommerce, marketplace, and payment platforms;

• Using encrypted connections where supported;

• Applying security and software updates;

• Maintaining account-access controls;

• Using fraud-prevention measures;

• Providing instructions for people authorized to handle information; and

• Securely deleting or disposing of information when it is no longer required.

No website, application, marketplace, database, email system, or electronic transmission is completely secure.

We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will take reasonable steps to protect personal information and respond appropriately to suspected privacy or security incidents.

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:

Shopify, Amazon, app-store operators, payment providers, and other third parties may control certain information independently.

We may direct you to the applicable provider where Artemora Learning does not control the requested information.

23. Withdrawing Consent

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it subject to legal, contractual, and reasonable notice requirements.

Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide a requested service.

For example, we require certain contact and delivery information to complete and ship an order.

You can withdraw marketing consent by using the unsubscribe link included in a marketing email or by contacting privacy@artemoralearning.com.

Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before consent was withdrawn.

24. External Links, Marketplaces, and Third-Party Services

Our website and applications may contain links to third-party websites, online marketplaces, app stores, payment services, shipping providers, or other external services.

For example, an Artemora Learning application may direct an adult through a parent gate to:

• An Artemora Learning product page;

• The Artemora Learning Shopify store;

• An Amazon product listing;

• An app-store purchase page; or

• Another external resource intended for adults.

When you leave an Artemora Learning application or website, the third party’s privacy policy and terms apply.

Artemora Learning is not responsible for the privacy, content, security, or practices of independently operated third-party services.

We encourage parents and guardians to supervise children’s device use and review the privacy practices and parental controls associated with external services.

Product reviews and post-purchase communications

We may use third-party service providers, including Judge.me, to send product review requests and related reminders after you make a purchase. To provide these services, we may share limited information such as your name, email address, order number, products purchased, and order or fulfilment details.

These service providers process personal information on our behalf for purposes such as sending review requests, confirming verified purchases, collecting customer feedback, and displaying reviews. Their handling of personal information is also governed by their own privacy policies.

You may choose not to leave a review and may unsubscribe from review request emails using the link provided in those messages.

25. No Sale of Personal Information

Artemora Learning does not sell personal information.

We also do not currently disclose personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising or use third-party advertising pixels to retarget website visitors.

We do not use information received from Amazon or another marketplace to independently market to customers unless they separately provide their information directly to Artemora Learning and consent to receive marketing communications.

If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any choices required by applicable law before applying the new practice.

26. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Artemora Learning’s products, services, sales channels, technologies, providers, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the policy.

Where a change is material, we may provide additional notice through our website, application, customer communications, or another appropriate method.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
